Traditional Irish country cottage hidden on the beautiful causeway coast close to the Giant’s Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Royal Portrush Golf Club and the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. Secluded and close to miles of beautiful National Trust sea shore walks. Northern Star Cottage is immaculately presented and although Northern Star is cosy and petite the cottage is surprisingly well equipped. We supply bicycles, surf boards, fishing equipment, flasks and picnic packs for the outdoors. Winter evenings are equally well catered for with a log stove, a good wine rack, two televisions and a small selection of carefully chosen books.

In the summer sea fishing trips where the Irish Sea and the Atlantic meet offer great fun days and seasonal fresh water salmon fishing on the Bush River is available by arrangement. Visit Rathlin Island to see one of the most important sea bird nesting areas in Western Europe. Rent fast sea going RIBS in Ballycastle to tour this magnificent coastline. See the Giant’s Causeway from the sea or visit Robert the Bruce’s Cave on Rathlin the choices are endless.

From your base in Ballintoy self catering will be a pleasure, fresh fish off the small boats in Ballintoy harbour and good restaurants in abundance. Fine wines may be ordered in advance and be ready for you when you arrive at your self catering cottage. Please request details when you book.
