Visiting us over the Halloween and midterm break? Here’s some frighteningly good inspiration for things to see and do on the Causeway Coast during your stay:

Pumpkin patches

Everyone loves a good photo opportunity, and Halloween calls for just that. Across the Causeway Coast and Glens, you’ll find many pumpkin patches, some where you can pick your own to take home and carve or decorate.

Ballygan Pumpkin Patch - 85 Newbridge Road, Ballymoney

Pick your own pumpkin and photoshoot opportunities available. Enjoy a hot chocolate and grab a Halloween themed goodie bag, too!

Rosepark Pumpkin Patch - 98 Bravallen Road, Ballymoney [SOLD OUT]

Before choosing the all-important pumpkins, you need to complete the scavenger hunt around Rosepark Farm. Complete the riddles and find the clues before you collect your yummy treat.

Broughgammon Farm - 50 Straid Road, Ballycastle

A pumpkin patch will be open as part of Broughgammon Farm’s wider Halloween celebrations this year.

Trench Farm - 8 Straid Road, Ballycastle

Start the Scavenger Hunt and follow the maze through the field to get to the Pumpkin Patch. Pick your pumpkin and take it to the Craft Barn where you can paint a spooky design on it!

Limitless - 71 Carrowclare Road, Limavady

Kids of all ages will love picking their own pumpkin at Limitless as part of their Scarefest weekend. There’s also an arts and crafts session where they’ll even be able to paint their own pumpkin!

Seacoast Garden Centre - 38A Seacoast Rad, Limavady

A perfect day out for the family, kids can explore the pumpkin patch and collect their pumpkin at Seacoast Garden Centre, before designing and carving their lantern.

Movie Screenings

Who doesn’t love a good scare? For Halloween-movie lovers and horror movie aficionados, you’ll find opportunities to rewatch some of your favourite thrillers and family Halloween movies in our theatres and cinemas.

The Shining - Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre, 24 Main Street, Limavady

Jack and his family move into an isolated hotel with a violent past. Living in isolation, Jack begins to lose his sanity, which affects his family members.

Hocus Pocus – Flowerfield Arts Centre, 185 Coleraine Road, Portstewart

An unlikely band of heroes tries to end the reign of the terrifying Sanderson Sisters. Channel some witchy energy and get creative in a post-film craft workshop with Linda Mulholland or join Karen Edwards as she brings to life some of the spooky myths and legends of the Causeway Coast.

Coco – Flowerfield Arts Centre, 185 Coleraine Road, Portstewart

Follow Miguel as his pursuit of music, against his family's wishes, leads him to the Land of the Dead where he meets his great-great-grandfather and legendary singer, Ernesto de la Cruz. After the movie enjoy some Sugar Skull craft or take your tiny tots to the Not So Spooky Tales with Kelly Quigley.

Halloween Movies at The Playhouse Portush - 47 Main Street , Portrush

The newly renovated cinema at The Playhouse in Portrush has finally reopened it’s doors, and this Halloween you can enjoy four screenings of Halloween cult-classics, including The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Lost Boys, Evil Dead 2 and The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Foodie experiences

Autumn is perhaps our favourite time of the year for experiencing all that our local restaurants, cafes and artisanal producers have to offer. Hedgerows bloom with berries, and kids anticipate the countdown for plenty of sweets and chocolate on trick or treating adventures. Hot drinks provide comfort and warmth when exploring our beautiful landscapes, and a warming whiskey is always welcome after a long day of exploring!

Using local produce, you'll create your own chutney to take home and on the day, you'll get to sample plenty of incredible produce from the farm shop as well as a tasty cheeseboard. When you're done creating your chutney, you'll unwind with light refreshments, as well as owner Amanda's very own sticky toffee pudding (not forgetting a scoopy of locally made icecream on the side).

If you've visited the Causeway Coast and Glens with your family before, you'll know that we're lucky enough to have plenty of great activity centres right on our doorstep. If you're planning on visiting this Halloween, you'll find plenty of spooky goings-on in some of our activity centres.

Scarefest at Limitless - 71 Carrowclare Rd, Limavady

Are you brave enough to survive all 9 games on Limitless Adventure Centre’s scare trail? During your visit to Limitless this Halloween you can also visit their Pumpkin Patch to pick your own pumpkin, try your hand at Frightening Fruit Archery, test your survival skills at Zombie Laser Tag and more. Ticket price also includes a free round of football golf, and there will be a prize for the best costume. An autism and neurodivergent friendly Scare Fest will take place on Sunday 30th October.

Halloween at The Farm, Broughgammon Farm - 50 Straid Road, Ballycastle

Pumpkin picking, a witchy scavenger hunt, a Halloween craft barn and a scarecrow competition are a few of things you can enjoy at Broughgammon Farm this Halloween. The farm shop & cafe will be serving up spooky treats, hot chocolates, and mulled apple juice on their Halloween at The Farm dates.

Halloween at Crindle Stables -  6 Carrowclare Road, Limavady

Enjoy plenty of spooky (and not so spooky) fun over Halloween at Crindle Stables. Enjoy a Halloween Adventure Ride or Countryside Trek, with beautiful scenes of Binevenagh. Spend a day at the stables where you can groom horses and ponies, as well as take lessons and take part in games with your furry friend for the day.

Ballycastle Traditional Music Trail - Halloween Special

Step into the tunes, songs, stories and dance of the Causeway Coast and Glens in the lively company of two skilled local musicians. This Halloween, the team behind Ballycastle Trad Trail will be hosting an evening of mythical tales. Learn the legend behind the Black Nun of Bonamargy Friary, and other spooky stories from the surrounding area - all while listening to and learning about traditional Irish music. Not for the fainthearted! 

Explore spooky haunted locations in the Causeway Coast and Glens

Fancy yourself as a bit of a paranormal investigator? Our destination is one that is full of stories, and some of them are pretty frightening! Will you hear the screams of the servants who, according to legend, fell in to the sea at Dunluce Castle? Will you stay in a haunted hotel where things go bump in the night? Will you meet the Grey Lady as you wander through the dark hedges?
