Experience the art of glassmaking with a focus on nature and the natural environment. Glassmaking from Nature is a taster workshop for people curious about glassmaking and who also have a love of nature.

Artisan glassmaker Andrea Spencer will show participants how to use heat and gravity to manipulate glass in the flame. Using assorted glass rods, participants will learn to bend, stretch, sculpt and carve molten glass to create simple shapes inspired by natural forms.

The workshop will offer demonstrations alongside practise at individual workstations, learning how to play and create with this magical material glass.

No previous glassmaking experience is necessary. All materials, tools and safety equipment will be provided.

Particpants should bring an apron or wear old clothes that are non-flammable. It is also advised that closed-toe footwear be worn.
