This short family cycle ride starts at the main car park within Christie Park, located on the westen bank of the Lower Bann between the two road bridges in Coleraine town centre. The terrain is a level bitmac surfaced shared use path. Cyclists follow the riverside path in a southerly direction, passing under the Sandelford Bridge, and continuing south through Somerset Riverside Park, until reaching the end of the route at the public car park. At this point cyclists can turn and retrace their route back to the start, or enjoy a walk through Somerset Forest on the opposite side of the road.

Getting to the start:
NCN 93 and 96 (The Lower Bann Cycleway) both pass through Christie Park.

Coleraine is serviced by the Belfast/Londonderry railway line and Ulsterbus services.

Christie Park is accessed by car via Strand Road (A29).

Traffic: Public car parks at both ends of the linear cycle route.
