About

Lorna Gough a local community artist launches her one woman show influenced by images of our local landscape she captures mood, colour and light. Bold colours of sunset and sunrise inspire her to explore in various medium from oil on canvas to the muted colours in needle felt technique.

Lorna studied Fine Art gaining a degree in 1981 and has expanded her creative impulse since then. As a teacher and community artist she has inspired others to explore the joy of being creative. As an artist she feels we all have an ability to unleash our artistic side.

Applying whatever medium suits her art work… paint, fabric, clay, print with needle felt being her most recent as it brings about her love of working with textile beside the feel of layering you get with watercolour.

A long history as a costumier in theatre made the Riverside a natural home for this exhibition.
