'We Can Do Better' | Guided Tour at Downhill Estate

Downhill House, Mussenden Road, Castlerock, Coleraine, County Derry/Londonderry, BT51 4RP
An image of Joe Caslin and the Kindred Collective at Downhill House.

About

We Can Do Better is a new piece of street art that will transform the exterior of Downhill House into a giant canvas for Joe Caslin to bring his monochrome sketched artwork to life on an unavoidable scale.

Co-created with Kindred Collective, a group of young women born since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, the artwork will reflect some of the issues affecting young people in Northern Ireland today.

During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to directly engage with both Joe Caslin and the members of the Kindred Collective, gaining insights into the creative process behind the artwork. Additionally, the tour will introduce the innovative augmented reality app designed to enhance your experience, offering a deeper dive into the artwork's layered meanings.

A National Trust guide will also complement your journey, shedding light on the rich history and significance of Downhill House itself.
