About

Join us at the Riverside Theatre from 7.00pm on the 9th February for a special Chinese New Year celebration for the Year of the Dragon, enjoying traditional refreshments and nibbles in our café alongside traditional music.

Enter the main auditorium at 8pm for a special talk, representing beauty, grace and delicacy expressing a feeling of joy. The finale of the evening will culminate in a spectacular Lion Dance. The Flying Dragon dancers amaze young and old with their daring acrobatic feats. The brightly coloured costumes of the playful lions and ferocious dragons, the sounds of drums, gongs, cymbals, and showering of fortune cookies delight the senses as these skilled martial artists display their physical strength and expertise in weaponry. The lion dances is a traditional Chinese art performed on big occasions, such as the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) for good luck!
