The Giant’s Causeway Coast Sportive, sponsored by Decathlon Belfast, is a unique road cycling event held on the iconic North Coast of Ireland and Glens of Antrim, which offers participants an unforgettable cycling experience through one of Europe’s most famous coastlines.

The sportive is one of the biggest road cycling events in Northern Ireland, attracting over 1,100 participants every year.

2019’s event will take place on Saturday 22nd June 2019; the event starts and finishes in Event HQ in the small seaside town of Ballycastle in County Antrim. Start times for each route can be found here.

Cyclists have the choice of 4 routes (35 miles; 60 miles; 85 miles; 115 miles), which have been developed with every level of cyclist in mind. The shortest route, 35-miles, is an excellent way for beginners to complete their first sportive, whereas the new 60-mile route is for cyclists who want to challenge themselves and step up from the 35-mile option. The 85-mile and 115-mile routes are ideal for those cyclists looking for a major challenge, with testing hills of up to 20% gradients.

All routes are marshalled and well-signed, and there are numerous feed stations along the route. Our feed stations are consistently recognised by our participants as being some of the best they’ve ever seen. The finish line in Ballycastle provides participants with hot food and a chance to grab a hot shower and relax after completing their epic challenge!

There is also an after-party in Ballycastle where participants can celebrate their accomplishment with fantastic food and drink.
