About

The Designerie formed in 2016 when Enterprise Causeway teamed up with local artists and crafters to make Christmas trees out of recycled pallets. They set up a workshop in a unit at Enterprise Causeway and a pop-up shop in The Diamond Centre in Coleraine.

Nowadays, the Designerie is a social enterprise that supports more than 90 creative designer-makers, situated in the village of Bushmills, on the Causeway Coast and offers unique and handcrafted homeware and gifts, with many unique products inspired by the country and coastal area.

The Designerie was crowned Social Enterprise of the Year 2021 at the Causeway Chamber Business Awards and provided workshops and creative space for the local community, offering a chance for local people to develop new skills in contemporary crafts using re-purposed and locally available materials and textiles.

In August 2018, Makers House was launched on the first floor of The Designerie. It delivers a creative hub for like-minded designer-makers to collaborate to make, market, educate, support, and build a strong, vibrant creative sector on the Causeway Coast.
