The Causeway Coast and Glens is Northern Ireland’s favourite holiday destination.  It is a vast landscape of coastline and spectacular countryside.  In 2017 Lonely Planet named the Causeway Coastal Route alongside Belfast as the Best Region to Visit in 2018.  Whether it’s your first visit or a repeat visit we’d like to think we can exceed your expectations every time.

The Causeway Coast and Glens is the most northern destination on the island of Ireland stretching from Waterfoot, near Cushendall and the Glens of Antrim to just outside Greysteel on the Foyle Estuary, inland to Dungiven in the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains and eastwards to the Bann Valley and the towns of  Garvagh and Kilrea.  Immersed in history dating back almost 10,000 years, the town of Coleraine is the municipal centre.

Think of dramatic cliff edges and coastline, magnificent Blue Flag beaches, the world’s oldest licensed distillery, stunning archaeological feats and a breath-taking UNESCO World Heritage Site at Giant’s Causeway, coupled with four Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you’ve packaged up one of the most spectacular areas on the globe.  The Causeway Coast and Glens falls within the Coastal Coastal Route and it is easy to see why it is regarded as ‘One of the World’s Great Road Journeys’.

The events calendar in the Causeway Coast and Glens continues to grow from strength to strength, having hosted world class events in recent years, such as The Giro D’Italia, the World Police and Fire Games and the Irish Open Golf Championship at Royal Portrush in 2012 and Portstewart Golf Club in 2017.  Preparations are underway at Royal Portrush Golf Club to welcome The 148th Open Championship in 2019 for only the second time in its history. Annual events such as Air Waves Portrush, the Vauxhall International North West 200 Motor Cycle Races and the SuperCupNI Youth Football Tournament continue to enthral visitors from far and wide every year.

The Visitor Information Centre network with offices in Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Limavady and seasonal offices in Bushmills and Portrush will be pleased to provide you with any information on the area and assist you with your accommodation booking, from hotels to guesthouses, B&Bs to self-catering properties, hostels to caravan parks.

Some wonderful hospitality awaits you in a choice of cafes, bistros, bars, restaurants, hotels and nightclubs. Whether you’re thinking of coming to the Causeway Coast and Glens for the first time, or you are a regular visitor, we promise you a warm welcome and an unforgettable experience.
