About

The Causeway Coast and Glens Walking Festival will take place from Fri 13th - Sun 15th March and will be facilitated by expert adventurers from Far and Wild. 

There are three walks in total, with each promising an incredible day of exploration, adventure and the opportunity to learn more about the history and heritage of some of our beautiful outdoor spaces.

Dates: 

Friday 13th March 2026

‘Tarraingt an Taisce - The Lure of Treasure’

This Moderate afternoon walk is 6-8km along a section of the Lough Foyle Trail. It will focus on the cultural heritage surrounding the Broighter Hoard and reflect on the maritime connections between the local community and the history of Lough Foyle. 

Saturday 14th March 2026

‘Lig na Péist - The Last Dragon in Ireland’

This Moderate walk is an 8km exploration of Banagher Glen on hilly trails and minor roads. It will explore the relationship between early pre-christian and and christian traditions as a basis for understanding Irish myths and legends and their meaning. 

Sunday 15th March 2026

‘An Buachaill Bréige - The Lying Boy’

This Challenging walk is a 12km multi-terrain walk in the Glenshane area. It will relate the history of penal laws in Ireland in the 18/19th Centuries and the impact and legacy upon rural communities in Ulster through the story of the ‘Buachaill Bréige’ or Lying Boy.
