About

Tucked away in three acres of mature gardens and woodland, Peatlands offers the ultimate 4-star escape into nature. Our two luxury shepherd’s huts – Curlew Hut and Sundew Hut – provide peace, privacy, and views of the stunning natural setting and abundant wildlife.

Blending exceptional craftsmanship with distinctive character, premium finishes and a focus on comfort, our beautiful huts provide a tranquil escape from the everyday. Also home to an award-winning artisan bakery, Peatlands invites guests to indulge in freshly baked sourdough bread and handcrafted treats – delivered warm to your hut each morning as part of our delicious breakfast offering. Peatlands is named for the surrounding landscape, which also inspires our emphasis on sustainability, nature connection and artisan craft.

Each hut is secluded in its own ample space with private boardwalk and deck. Inside, you'll find:

A king-size bed with a Mlily mattress and Bedfolk cotton linens

A luxury shower room with premium toiletries and fluffy towels

A fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave, double hob, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, and high-quality dishware

High-speed Wi-Fi and smart projector/TV,

A fold-out dining table and chairs for cosy meals

Heating options including a wood-burning stove, electric heater, and heated towel rail

Step outside to your private deck with a fire pit and dining area, perfect for stargazing or enjoying a drink under the night sky.

Peatlands is just 45 minutes from Belfast International Airport, with the spectacular scenery and rich culture of the Causeway Coast just a short drive away: 10 minutes to Portrush, Dunluce Castle, and Bushmills, and 15 minutes to the Giant’s Causeway, Dark Hedges, and Portstewart. It is close to the Glens of Antrim, Ballycastle, and ferry crossings to Rathlin Island. Right across the road lies Garry Bog – one of NI’s largest areas of undamaged lowland raised bog. Recognised as a Ramsar Site, Special Area of Conservation, and Area of Special Scientific Interest, it is a haven for biodiversity. A public path allows guests to explore its vibrant grasses, mosses, heathers, and gorse.

Peatlands is open all year round. Whatever the season, we’d love to welcome you.
