Peatlands is a peaceful retreat set within mature gardens, woodland and meadow in the heart of the spectacular Causeway Coast. Named after the neighbouring Garry Bog Nature Reserve, Peatlands reflects its surroundings through a thoughtful approach to nature, sustainability and artisan craft. Our two luxury shepherd’s huts offer a secluded setting for restorative escapes, creative breaks and special celebrations.

Each shepherd’s hut sits within its own generous, private space, reached by a boardwalk and opening onto a spacious deck with views across the surrounding landscape. Inside, contemporary design and considered details combine with everyday comforts, including a king-size bed with luxurious cotton linens, en-suite shower room, fully equipped kitchen (fridge, double hob, microwave, oven, kettle, toaster, cookware, tableware), dining table and chairs, smart projector, a mini library and games, and clothing/luggage storage. A wood-burning stove adds warmth and atmosphere, while the private deck offers a fire pit and outdoor dining area for meals and evenings outdoors. For a work stay or creative break, ultrafast Wi-Fi is available throughout, and a sit-stand desk is provided.

Peatlands is also home to an award-winning artisan bakery, where freshly baked sourdough, pizzas and handcrafted treats regularly earn rave reviews from our guests. Start the day with our Artisan Bakery Breakfast, featuring freshly baked goods and thoughtfully prepared items made with organic and locally sourced ingredients. For a slower start to Saturday, join us in the bakery for an exclusive sourdough bread-making experience, where you can enjoy a relaxed morning immersed in the craft of artisan baking. Our Farm Shop Pasta Night offers another way to enjoy great local produce, with everything you need for a delicious meal in the comfort of your hut.

Alongside the bakery, The Nook and Peatlands Pantry bring together practical guest facilities and a carefully chosen selection of provisions and some of our favourite things. You’ll find our own creations, including handmade artisan ice cream and house granola, alongside local produce, speciality foods, craft chocolate, drinking chocolate and ingredients for a simple meal. Curated celebration packages are also available to help you mark a special occasion with thoughtful touches.

The Nook also offers laundry and drying facilities, freezer space, beach towels, maps and local guides, along with logs and kindling for the fire and charcoal for outdoor cooking. Secure storage for bicycles and other sports equipment means you can bring your kit along and make the most of the surrounding countryside and coast.

Close to Portrush, Dunluce Castle, Bushmills and the Giant’s Causeway, Peatlands makes a convenient base for exploring the Causeway Coast. The Dark Hedges, Portstewart, the Glens of Antrim and ferry crossings to Rathlin Island are also within easy reach. Across the road, Garry Bog offers the opportunity to explore a distinctive landscape of bogland habitats and wildlife.

Open all year round, Peatlands gives you the choice of days spent exploring the coast and countryside or a slower break enjoying the privacy and comforts of your own hut, surrounded by nature. Preferential rates are available for solo stays and longer visits. We look forward to welcoming you.
