About

The Marcus Portrush is more than a hotel, it's a tribute to the timeless spirit of Portrush. Housed in a beautifully restored Victorian building that first opened as a hotel in the 1880s, it stands proudly on Main Street as a symbol of the town’s rich past and dynamic future. Original mosaic signage, intricate faience tiles, and carefully preserved architectural details blend seamlessly with bold, modern design, creating a space that’s as inspiring as it is inviting.

From hosting coastal adventurers in the Victorian era to welcoming today’s travellers, The Marcus Portrush has always been a place of stories and discovery. It now plays a key role in regenerating the heart of Portrush, bringing life back to a beloved landmark while offering guests a stylish base to explore one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic destinations.

Nestled on the wild Atlantic coast, The Marcus Portrush offers easy access to world-famous sites like the Giant’s Causeway, Bushmills Whiskey Distillery, and the rugged North Coast beaches. It also places golf lovers at the centre of the action, just a mile from Royal Portrush Golf Club, host of The Open Championship in 1951, 2019, and 2025.

As part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, The Marcus Portrush combines boutique character with the perks of the Hilton Honors programme, offering a stay that’s as rewarding as it is unique.

At the heart of it all is Marcus, a comic-book-style character created to embody the free-spirited nature of the town. Child-like curiosity, daring adventure, and a deep connection to the sea flow through his story, inspiring the experience we create for every guest. Marcus is more than a name; he’s the playful soul of Portrush brought to life.

Whether you’re sipping bold cocktails at The Heritage Bar, tasting far-flung flavours at Nemesis, our Asian Fusion restaurant, or simply soaking in the sea breeze, your stay at The Marcus is a chapter in a greater adventure.

This is The Marcus Portrush, the hotel where adventures begin.
