It's time to start counting down the days until the school summer holidays begin, crossing our fingers and toes for sunshiny weather, and spending more time in the great outdoors!

This June, a whole host of fantastic events take place throughout the Causeway Coast and Glens region, which will meet a variety of different tastes and special interests. Here’s what you can look forward to this month:

Causeway Coast Ford Fair | 2 June

Calling all vintage car fanatics! The Causeway Coast Ford Fair is back this year on Sunday 2 June. The show has become a huge attraction on the Causeway Coast, showcasing a wide range of Ford classic and vintage vehicles, allowing spectators the opportunity to browse through many years of Ford heritage.

Causeway Coast Amateur Golf Tournament | 3-7 June

The perfect way to warm up for The Open! Running successfully from the 1960’s, the Causeway Coast Amateur Golf Tournament attracts up to 600 golfers annually from all over the world. Taking place from 3 to 7 June 2019 the golfer will take on four links classics in Ballycastle, Ballyliffin. Castlerock and North West Golf Clubs.

Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival | 7-9 June

The Salmon & Whiskey festival, which celebrates the local heritage and fine produce in the area, returns on Friday 7th with the Bushmills Banquet, then on Saturday 8th June and Sunday 9th June. Two days of fantastic entertainment and activities will spread across Bushmills Main Street, Milliennium Park, Bushmills Distillery and The Salmon Fisheries. Come along for the weekend, try some new food, see some new sights and have a wonderful foodie experience!

Fishery Open Weekend at Carrick-a-rede | 8-9 June

Come and explore the fisherman’s cottage on Carrick-a-Rede Island and hear how salmon fishermen first erected a rope bridge here in 1755. Cross the bridge and join National Trust Rangers inside the old fisherman’s cottage on Carrick-a-rede Island to learn about the unique history of one of Northern Ireland’s best known attractions

Danny Boy Jazz and Blues Festival | 13-16 June

Limavady’s annual jazz festival returns from 13-16 June this year with a line-up of incredible performers across various locations in the town centre.

The atmosphere at the Danny Boy Jazz and Blues is as welcoming as it is exciting, so if you’re checking out the area, be sure to stop by!

Fun Run of the Glens | 15 June

Join hundreds of cyclists, runners and walkers taking on the Glens in this fantastic annual event in aid of Cancer Focus NI. The FROG now consists of three options for participating: FROG Cycle, FROG Feet, and FROG Legs. Participants have the option to donate on the day (recommended minimum of £30) or commit to raising a minimum of £125 to receive a highly sought-after FROG 2019 cycling/running jersey (personalised with your name)

Midsummer Music at Mussenden Temple | 21-23 June

The midsummer musical event held in the iconic venue of the Mussenden Temple, part of the Downhill Demense, is always a popular one. This year the Ulster Orchestra return with an incredible ensemble which will include a variety of light and popular music items. Booking is essential!

The Giant’s Causeway Coast Sportive | 22 June

The Giant’s Causeway Coast Sportive, sponsored by Decathlon Belfast, is a unique road cycling event held on the iconic North Coast of Ireland and Glens of Antrim, which offers participants an unforgettable cycling experience through one of Europe’s most famous coastlines.

2019’s event starts and finishes in Event HQ in the small seaside town of Ballycastle in County Antrim

Pirates Off Portrush | 29-30 June

Pirates Off Portrush is a two day festival featuring dance, drama, parades, music, and fun! On Saturday, the Pirates are chasing the Leprechauns to save The Open Golf Championship, and on Sunday there is fun for all the family at the Heritage Fair!
