Mother’s Day 2021 is Sunday 14th March. With restaurants, pubs and shops still closed, we’ve came up with some creative ideas to give your mum a special day regardless of the circumstances.

1. Treat her to a gift voucher

Many of our hotels, restaurants and cafes have gift vouchers available to purchase for when they reopen. Pick your mum’s favourite place to get pampered, eat, drink or stay, and give her something to look forward to!

2. Make her a dinner to remember

Every year, we’re guilty of taking the easy way out and letting our local restaurants do the feeding on Mother’s Day. For some of us, COVID-19 restrictions have meant we’ve had to get creative in the kitchen and pull out all the stops to serve up our best celebration meals. Thankfully, our region is home to a wealth of local food producers – our wide range of award-winning food products makes it easy to get inspired. All you need is a recipe and some confidence!

3. … or take the easy way out!

If cooking isn’t your thing there’s still plenty of eateries offering takeaway and delivery services during COVID-19 closures. Order from her favourite restaurant, chip shop, or even treat her to and afternoon tea treat box with prosecco for an at-home picnic experience.

4. Get creative with cocktails

There are plenty of things we are well known for here on the Causeway Coast: our stunning attractions, friendly people, tasty local produce and of course, our world-class hospitality. With bars remaining closed until the later stages of our Pathway out of lockdown, why not try your hand at a bit of mixology? After all, we’re home to one of the world’s most famous whiskies – and we found plenty of cocktail inspiration on their website too!

5. Purchase a locally made gift

We’re surrounded by many talented creatives here in the Causeway Coast and Glens. From sculptors, to photographers, artists to fashion designers and even locally made beauty products, there’s gifts for every kind of mum. Remember, when you buy from a small independent business, you’re supporting someone’s livelihood.

6. Make a promise to travel together

In our opinion, the best way to make memories is to travel. Why not contribute to a holiday fund you can take with your mum #WhenWeTravelAgain? If you need help planning the perfect trip to the Causeway Coast and Glens, get in touch with us via social media or email our visitor information team for assistance. Make it one to remember!
