Just Jemima Workshops, Castlerock

This is the stuff of kids’ dreams: the thrill of making summer journals, fairy wings, pretty jewellery, dream catchers, bunting, slime art, printing t-shirts and exploring nature in the idyllic woodland near Castlerock. The kids will soak up these colourful workshops whilst the adults enjoy a hot cuppa. Top tip – keep an eye out for the beautiful peacocks in the secret garden. You can have Just Jemima bring her workshops to you too in her pretty vintage caravan. Check out her Facebook page to see what’s on and get booking as places fill up fast!

The Blackheath Pottery, Coleraine

Meander through the countryside just outside Coleraine and you will come across The Blackheath Pottery, nestled in the courtyard of the historic grounds of Georgian Blackheath House. Explore your ceramic skills in a gorgeous old stone cottage workshop and sense the inspiration from the past here; Babs honours the craftsmanship that existed all over Ireland in years gone by in her wares and her workshops.

Whether you’re local or spending the summer months in the region, feel the cold, wet clay whilst hand-building or throwing on the wheel, then watch your work of art transform as you decorate and glaze to perfection. Potter Babs Belshaw will welcome you warmly, whether you are a beginner or a more experienced potter. Once you book, Babs will be in touch for a chat to create the perfect experience for you.

Elements Studio Arts, Downhill

Visit Elements Studio Arts, Downhill and place yourself in the capable hands of ceramic artist McCall Gilfillan. Challenge yourself to a private pottery workshop or gather a small group of friends and family to make memories – and pottery - in this characterful studio by Downhill Beach. Focus on throwing on a potter's wheel or ceramic sculpture in this stunning setting at the foot of Mussenden Temple. For McCall, creativity is a way of living, even a means of surviving, always a way of sharing. Her inspiration is drawn from the coastline and legends of the region. Inspiring creativity in others is integral to her life as an artist. She loves to teach and inspire others to live more fully through their own creativity. Now that’s someone we want to take a workshop with!

Fused Glass Workshop with Eleanor-Jane McCartney, Barmouth, Bushmills & Portrush

One for the grown-ups, this workshop will fulfil your desire to explore the wonderful art of Fused Glass with E-J, a Member of the Glass Society of Ireland and Visual Artists Ireland. You’ll be guided through the process by E-J herself, working with sheet glass, accessory glass and inclusions to create two fired pieces – choose from a hanging piece, a coaster, tealight holder, a unique piece for framing or a slumped piece such as a bowl or a dish. You’ll soak up the beauty and artistic atmosphere of the venues for E-J’s classes at either The Boat House Gallery Shop and Studio (very close to The Giant’s Causeway) or in Frankie Creith’s Art & Creative Workshops gallery in Portrush, or even at her own studio, The Barmouth Studio, Castlerock. The venues themselves are a treat for the senses.

Mindful Monoprint for Kids, Limavady

This is a fabulous opportunity for your kids to explore their creativity and wellbeing through art and nature. In this colourful, crafty workshop they’ll have the opportunity to create their own mono printed pencil case and card. Children will use natural objects to create their prints and will use their senses, including sight and touch, to get creative. This workshop is a great opportunity for kids to learn a Heritage craft and have fun with art!
