About

Just a stone’s throw from the world renowned Giant’s Causeway, UNESCO World Heritage Site is The Boat House Gallery and Studio. Home to six local artists this historic building houses an intriguing collection of traditional and contemporary high quality works. One of the resident artists is Eleanor-Jane McCartney, a glass artist who loves to share her personal connection with the stones through beautiful glass art.

Under the gentle guidance of Eleanor-Jane, learn how to design and create a unique transparent glass hanging piece using the copper foiling technique. Inspired by the shape of the stones each piece is as unique as the stones themselves. Using recycled glass from the stained glass windows of a local church, carefully follow the process to craft your very own memento of your visit to the Giants Causeway.

Enjoy refreshments served with local bakes, browse the modern gallery and meet some of the resident artists. Be charmed as Eleanor-Jane shares her passion and connection to her home place through the recital of her Causeway Stones poem. Leave with your new creation lovingly boxed and ready to take home.

Remember to bring your walking shoes if you wish to go for a short dander to the epic Causeway stones, before or after your creative experience.
