About

AWARE NI's Giant Steps is a powerful and inspiring walking challenge along Northern Ireland's stunning Causeway Coast, bringing people together to take meaningful steps for mental health.

Taking place on Saturday 6 June, participants can choose from 7, 13, or 20-mile routes, making the event accessible for all fitness levels -whether you're taking on your first challenge or pushing yourself further. Each route showcases the breathtaking beauty of the coastline, creating a memorable experience shared with friends, family, colleagues, and the wider community.

But Giant Steps is about much more than the miles. Every step taken and every pound raised helps AWARE NI continue providing vital mental health support services across Northern Ireland. With demand for support growing and waitlists increasing, fundraising from events like Giant Steps plays a crucial role in ensuring that people can access help when they need it most.

AWARE NI delivers free, community-based support for those living with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Through its network of Support Groups and wellbeing programmes, the charity offers a safe space for people to connect, share experiences, and feel less alone. Funds raised through Giant Steps help ensure these services remain accessible, immediate, and free of charge.

Participants are encouraged to fundraise, with a suggested target of £100, and every contribution—big or small—makes a real difference. Whether you take part solo or as part of a team, you'll be joining a supportive and uplifting community, all walking with a shared purpose: to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support those affected by mental health challenges.

Giant Steps is not just a walk—it's a chance to come together, start conversations, and show that no one has to face mental health struggles alone. By taking part, you are helping to create a future where support is always within reach.
