About

Portrush Music Society presents the uplifting and internationally acclaimed musical, Come From Away - the moving true story that celebrates kindness, community and human connection in the face of adversity.

Set in the days following the tragic events of 11th September 2001, Come From Away follows 7,000 stranded airline passengers who find themselves unexpectedly grounded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. As uncertainty and fear ripple across the world, the people of Gander respond with extraordinary generosity, welcoming the “come from aways” into their homes and lives. Through a dynamic, folk-inspired score and fast-paced storytelling, the show weaves together moments of humour, compassion and hope, revealing how even in the darkest times, humanity shines through.

Following their highly acclaimed performances of My Fair Lady, Beauty and the Beast, and The Phantom of the Opera, Portrush Music Society is delighted to be moving into The Playhouse, Portrush for their production of Come From Away. With a reputation for creativity, attention to detail and engaging performances, Portrush Music Society continues to raise the bar with every show. Come From Away promises to be a powerful and memorable theatrical experience, full of energy, emotion and the spirit of community that lies at the heart of this remarkable story.
