About

From a father-and-son brew kit to over 400 co-owners, Lacada brews fresh beer, cider, and kombucha that celebrate Portrush, the Causeway Coast, and the people who make it home.

Their brewery tour takes you through seven stops inside a real working brewery on the Causeway Coast. You will handle raw malt, smell hops, taste hot wort from the kettle, and finish with a curated tasting of their beers, guided by the people who brewed them. By the end, you will know the entire story of the pint in your hand.

It starts where every good story starts - at the bar. Lacada will tell you how a father and son's nano-brewery became a community-owned co-operative with over 450 members. Then, you'll get your hands on the raw ingredients; samples of pale malt, roasted barley, crystal malt, and speciality grains will be passed around so you can see, smell, and taste the foundation of every beer Lacada Brewery makes. This is where flavour begins.

You'll see the warm store - where barrel-aged beers rest and live-cultured kombucha ferments. You'll pick up your tasting glass here. From this point on, you're following the lifecycle of a pint.

Your next stop is the brew house: the heart of the operation. See the hot liquor tank where their water is treated, the mash tun where grain meets liquid, and the kettle where hops go in and wort comes to life. If the timing's right, you'll taste a hot sample straight from the brew.

The team at Lacada will then walk you through the fermenters, explain how yeast transforms sweet wort into beer, how they capture natural CO₂, and why temperature control and conditioning time are the difference between a good beer and a great one.

From tank to can to cold store, see how the team package, label, and prepare beer for the taproom, the shop, and stockists across Northern Ireland.

Finally, you'll sit down for a curated tasting of selected Lacada beers, guided by their team of experts. The tour starts with the co-op story and ends here, where you're invited to become part of it.

Taproom Open every Friday and Saturday 4-10pm.
