About

A week of ancient pottery firing experiences and demonstrations at Patricia Millar's Ceramics. Visit her ceramic gallery to find pottery made from the Causeway Coast landscape, catch an ancient pottery firing or try your hand at decorating and firing your own pot.

A pottery studio minutes from the Giant's Causeway specialising in ancient firing techniques. Patricia's work uses local clays and materials to capture the unique colour signature and forms of the Causeway Coastal landscape.

With an interest in our rich, ancient past, her work echoes that of the Neolithic and Bronze Age people who lived in this magnificent landscape. Patricia is passionate about sharing the ancient pottery firing techniques of our ancestors.

Patricia specialises in a range of ancient pottery firing techniques. Choose from smoke firing, milk raku, barrel or pit firing workshops to suit all abilities for both potters and non-potters. Pots are provided, you have all the fun of decorating and firing them!

During The Open, there are 2 bookable experiences for you to try your hand at an ancient pottery techniques session - no prior experience is required!
• Using local ochre, decorate and smoke fire 2 incense pots (2-hour session)
• Decorate and barrel fire 3 bowls wrapped in seaweed to create unique North Coast coloured pottery (Full day session, lunch provided)

Details of workshops and booking can be found through the booking link.
