About

Welcome to the wild. Unplug and unwind beneath open skies at Giant’s Rest.

Giant’s Rest offers secluded luxury in four boutique retreats.

Nestled within a 200-acre family farm at the foot of Knocklayde Mountain, just a short drive from Ballycastle on the Causeway Coast, Giant’s Rest is a peaceful retreat from everyday life and the perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of Northern Ireland.

Designed for guests seeking comfort, space and seclusion, each stylish, fully self-contained retreat has uninterrupted countryside views, a spacious private deck and garden area, and its own covered wood-fired hot tub.

Rathlin, Carrick and Fairhead

Perfect for couples, friends or family getaways, these three retreats sleep up to four guests. Inside you’ll find a separate double bedroom, private bathroom with walk-in shower, fully equipped kitchen and thoughtfully designed living area with a double sofa bed.

Step outside onto your private deck to relax in your wood-fired hot tub, fire up the BBQ or gather around the firepit as the sun goes down.

Dunluce

Our largest retreat, Dunluce sleeps up to six guests and is particularly well suited to families and small groups. Alongside a double bedroom and twin bedroom it also has an additional sofa bed in the living area, offering greater space and flexibility. A generous living area, fully equipped kitchen, private bathroom and large private deck and garden make it a comfortable retreat whatever the weather.

Experience Giant’s Rest

Every stay includes access to our panoramic Mountain View sauna, wooden cold plunge and outdoor shower. Bathrobes are provided so you can wander over, warm up in the sauna and cool off with a refreshing plunge while taking in the surrounding countryside.

Each retreat also has its own covered wood-fired hot tub. Filled with fresh water for every stay and heated naturally without chlorine or harsh chemicals, your hot tub will be preheated and ready for your arrival. A generous supply of firewood is provided throughout your stay so you can keep it warm whenever you choose.

Each retreat is fully heated for year-round stays, with free Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and bathrobes provided. Free private parking is available on site.

Giant’s Rest is just a short drive from Ballycastle and is ideally placed for exploring the Causeway Coastal Route, Rathlin Island, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, the Giant’s Causeway and the many beaches, walks and attractions along the coast.

Whether you’re soaking beneath the stars, taking in the mountain views from the sauna or sitting around the fire as evening falls, Giant’s Rest is a place to retreat, rest, revive and roam.
