About

The Wrens Nest is Grade II listed period gatelodge dating back to times when the linen industry prospered here in Ireland. The property was renovated in 2023 to provide self-catered accommodation ideal for guests seeking a peaceful stay in beautiful Northern Irish countryside.

The Wrens Nest is located on a farmily run dairy farm, situated amongst woodland it provides the perfect spot to enjoy peace and quiet whilst still offering guests easy access by car to explore the North Coast and surrounding areas.

The proerty is fully equipped, it has private off road parking with car charger, a hot tub & outside dining area, underfloor heating and a wood burning stove with wood provided. Throughout the renovations we have seeked to protect the heritage and restore many original features, in contrast we have extended the orignal footprint of the Gatelodge to build a modern extension for the bedroom & bathroom.

We are passionate about protecting our woodlands and natural environment and continue to invest in the planting of trees, growing of wildflowers and establishing habbitats. In 2025 we installed solar pannels on the farm to supply the Wrens Nest with green energy. Another passion of ours is exploring Northern Ireland particularly is stunning countryside and coastal areas, we provide our guests with information on our top picks but really enjoying getting feedback on their most rated trips, together we can keep promoting and protecting our natural areas.
