About
The Safehouse Café Bar Portrush is a restaurant which provides hearty food including stone-baked pizzas, drinks including handcrafted cocktail and rich barista coffee, a pet-friendly environment and live music every weekend.
A Historic Gem in the Heart of Portrush. Established in 1898 as a branch of the Belfast Bank, this iconic building was designed by renowned architect Vincent Craig. Through careful restoration, we've preserved its historic charm, blending tradition with modern comfort to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Central to the seaside town and convenient to nearby tourist attractions, the Safehouse has a strong heritage which gained listed status in 1977 as a landmark of architectural historic interest. Historically, the property was previously the home of the original bank manager and his family, with the ground floor as the bank which included a secure safe room and a heavy steel door where the Safehouse Café Bar is located.
The Safehouse Café Bar Portrush is open from 12pm until 8pm on Mondays to Thursdays with last food order by 7.30pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am until 12am with last food order by 9pm and Sundays from 10am until 8pm with last food order by 7.30pm.
The modern interiors blend with the charming character and authentic features of the former bank, matched with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere from the dedicated Safehouse staff and team. The café bar is family-friendly with the option for all pizzas to be made smaller for children and also proudly pet-friendly so that your dog can be included too!
Live music is held in the Safehouse Café Bar Portrush every weekend with acoustic sets in the evenings from 8pm until 10pm on Fridays and 9pm until 11pm on Saturdays along with North Coast Trad Sessions from 3pm until 5pm on Saturday afternoons.
