About

Ballymoney Spring Fair is making a return to the town on 16th - 18th April, with free family-friendly activities and lots of carnival colour to look forward to.

Organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council with support from FUSE FM, enjoy a packed weekend of of live music, country markets, kids entertainment, vintage car displays and a colourful carnival parade. Or indulge in some retail therapy with many of the town’s independent boutiques and businesses offering Spring Fair special offers.

Here's all you need to know to have a great weekend on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th April from 11am - 4pm:
 

Do I need a ticket to attend?

No the event is FREE and open to the public. If you’re planning to attend the cinema screenings which will be run by Ballymoney Community Cinema, there is a small charge of £2 per person which applies to both adult and child tickets. Booking is required for the free heritage walks.

Will the event be suitable for children?

Yes, the event is family friendly and suitable for all ages.

Where are the parking facilities?

Parking is available at various sites in Ballymoney Town Centre. On Saturday there will be some additional parking at Dalriada School.

Where are the toilet facilities?

Ballymoney Town Hall, Castlecroft, Townhead Street, Castle Street, Church Street carpark, and the Station.

What about disabled facilities?

A Mobile Accessible Changing Unit (MACU) will be onsite at Castlecroft Carpark on Saturday from 11am.

Learn about the fascinating history of Ballymoney. From the top to the bottom of the town, Join Keith Beattie on one of his free walks, as he enthrals you with some very interesting facts about the Toon! Thursday and Friday from 10am.

What is happening on Thursday?

Ballymoney Town Hall Cinema screening of The Greatest Showman at 3.30pm

Tea Dance at the British Legion from 6.30-8.30pm           

Is there a charge for the cinema screenings and how do I book? 

Tickets are £2 each per person for adult and child tickets. Each screening will be from 3.30pm to 5pm. The cinema screenings are being run by Ballymoney Community Cinema. Tickets can also be booked online at https://www.ticketsource.com/ballymoney-community-cinema  or pay at the door on Thursday 16th or Friday 17th.

What is happening on Friday?

From 11am to 4pm Ballymoney Country Market will be at Castlecroft Square with a fantastic range of local food and handmade produce. FUSE FM Ballymoney will be providing the entertainment, with live music from Jason Hughes and friends.

A family friendly cinema screening of the SMURFS from 3.30-5pm. A morning Heritage walk, starting from the Visitor Information Centre next to the Town Hall (pre-booking required through visitor information centre). Benvarden Gardens – Gardens and tearoom open from 11-4.30pm

What is happening on Saturday?

There are lots of great family friendly activities happening across Ballymoney town centre, including Taggart’s Yard on Saturday 18th April. A Quiet Time Session will be running from 11am to 12noon. All activities, live music and entertainment commencing from 12 noon. Benvarden Gardens – Gardens and tearoom open from 11-4.30pm

What time does the Car Cavalcade and Parade start on Saturday?

The Car Cavalcade begins at 2.30pm, leaving from Seymour Street, travelling along Meeting House Street, Queen Street, Victoria Street, Charles Street, High Street, around the town Hall and out the Model School Road. The Carnival parade starts at 3.30pm leaving from the Town Hall, heading down High Street and Main Street and then returning to the Town Hall.

Is there a Quiet Time Session?

Yes there is a Quiet Time Session on Saturday 18th April from 11am - 12noon. This is an opportunity for individuals with additional needs to have quiet time to enjoy some gentler activities such as the animal petting farm. St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland at Old School Yard will also host an additional needs area for those wishing to have a quieter space to enjoy the Fair.

Where is First Aid located?

St. John's Ambulance will be on site at Castlecroft Square from 11am.

Is Ballymoney Town Centre closed to traffic?

Church Street, High Street and Main Street will be closed on Saturday 18th April from 6am to 9pm. Motorists are advised to expect increased traffic and delays during this time.

Is the event Dog Friendly?

You are more than welcome to bring your four-legged friends to enjoy the Spring Fair, as long as they are kept on a lead. Why not bring along your doggy friend and give the Dog Agility course in Taggart’s Yard a try!

Ballymoney has great public transport connections by train and bus, making it easy to visit the Fair and enjoy all the activities and attractions.
