Anglican choral music has a long and beautiful history. Not much heard or easily accessed in modern times this wonderful presentation of choral evensong by the excellent Excelsus Chamber Choir is not to be missed. The service will be led by Rev. Stephen Lowry and the organist will be Daniel Clements who was one of the recitalists at St. Patrick's Lunchtime Summer Recitals this year. The choir's musical director is Tony Morrison who is also organist and musical director at St. Patrick's Church of Ireland, Coleraine. Music for this service is by Charles Wood (Irish composer), George Dyson (English composer), Eleanor Daley(Canadian composer) and local composer Alison Cadden.
Choral Evensong is a fitting and tranquil way to end worship on a Sunday and is history and tradition in words and music.
Everyone is most welcome to find "a space in which to be still and to catch the beauty of holiness" as St. Paul's Cathedral puts it.
