Celebrate the vibrant legacy of Sam Henry at the annual Sam Henry Weekend, a spectacular festival of music, dance, food, and song in Portrush, from 26th–28th September 2025. This unforgettable event honours the renowned Coleraine man, Sam Henry – an Irish customs officer, antiquarian, folklorist, and musician best known for his remarkable collection Songs of the People, featuring nearly 690 timeless folk ballads assembled between 1923–1939.

Songs of the People Concert 

Immerse yourself in an extraordinary evening of music and song in the stunning Art Deco Playhouse Theatre on Friday 26th September – an unmissable showcase of world-class talent.  

Sam Henry Folk Club

Experience the magic of outstanding tutors alongside special guests in an intimate setting on Saturday 27th September.  

Sam Henry Festival Club

Finish off a fantastic day at our Festival Club featuring various artists Saturday 27th September.

Sam Henry Session Trail

Feel the energy of Portrush come alive as music and song fill the streets and venues on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September.
