Step inside The Courthouse Bushmills, a beautifully restored 19th-century courthouse now transformed into a vibrant Shared Space Creative Hub at the heart of the village. Once home to local Petty Sessions and civic life, the building has been carefully revitalised by Enterprise Causeway as a place where heritage, creativity and community come together.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore parts of the historic building, discover stories connected to Bushmills’ social and judicial history, and experience how the former courthouse has been reimagined as a contemporary cultural venue. Original architectural features sit alongside artist studios, exhibition spaces, creative retail and community programming, giving visitors a unique insight into both the building’s past and present. Reflecting the theme of Heritage at Risk, the project highlights how historic buildings can be sensitively restored and given a new purpose, ensuring their long-term survival and relevance within the community.
As part of EHOD, The Courthouse will host guided heritage tours and storytelling highlighting the history of the building, the wider Bushmills area, and the people connected to it over generations. Visitors can also meet local makers and creatives, enjoy demonstrations and exhibitions, and learn more about the ongoing regeneration of this landmark building.
Located on the Causeway Coastal Route, The Courthouse offers a welcoming and engaging experience for visitors of all ages, celebrating local heritage, creativity and the continuing story of Bushmills.
