About

Fairhead Glamping Pods in on a working farm which has been in the McCarry family for several generations. The site is on Fairhead (Benmore) and is located just past Coolanlough which is a clachan (small group of old cottages) and looks out over one of three lakes at Fairhead. The lake has a crannog (a man made island) in the middle of it. The crannog in the lake dates back to approximately the 1600s and, according to the Ordnance Survey (OS) Memoirs of 1838, was built by one of the McDonnell chieftains who apparently had a house and land on Fairhead.
Situated on top of Fairhead (Benmore) you have walking access along the cliff with breath-taking views on what can only be described as a ruggedly beautiful, wild and remote walk. Expect stunning coastal views towards Ballycastle and Rathlin Island with Scotland beyond. Part of the walk is above the picturesque Murlough Bay, passing historic loughs and open green farmland with livestock. This walk takes you past several locations where the Game of Thrones was filmed.
