The Cushendun Big Arts Weekend 2026 is an annual celebration of arts, heritage and community, now in its 13th year.
This year, enjoy four days of music, comedy, poetry, art, and family fun in one of the most beautiful villages in the Glens of Antrim. From live performances to guided walks, stimulating talks and family-friendly activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Over the weekend there will be several exhibitions from local artists and photographers as well as pop up tea room serving homemade treats. There will also be a Book Sale table with a wide variety of hardback and paperback books.
The weekend will kick off with a Stand Up Comedy set by Emer Maguire, one of Northern Ireland's fastest-raising stand-up comedians. On Saturday there will be a full day of arts and heritage events including; 'A Walk in the Woods with Dance Encounters' featuring Maiden Voyage Dance Company, a lecture from Niall Comer on John Hewitt, the beloved 'Share a Poem' event and a special showing of The Greatest Showman hosted in the Old Church Centre.
Sunday is a jam-packed family fun day with Naturally North Coast & Glens Artistan Market as well marquees from local groups set up in the grounds of Glenmona House along with KidZ Farm Petting Zoo, the National Trust Trail and games. Other highlights include a baby & toddler disco, knitting & crochet drop in, a kid's craft workshop, a performance from the Ballymena Ukulele Group and a dog. The day will conclude with a performance from the Ulster String Quartet at the Old Church Centre.
On Monday, enjoy a guided tour with red Squirrel expert, Danniel McAfee, around Cregagh Wood, as well as a Sandcastle Competition for ages 3-14. The weekend will finish off with a Comedy Quiz Night at the Old Church Centre.

Most of the events on Sunday are free or low cost, and your donations would be much appreciated to support the work of the Old Church Centre and the Cushendun Building Preservation Trust.
