About

The Heart of the Glens Festival is based in Cushendall in the beautiful Glens of Antrim, on the famous Causeway Coastal route/Antrim Coast Road.

The 2025 festival runs from 2nd-10th August and provides a fun-packed programme of events.

The large variety of events include the Community Opening Parade showcasing the town's community spirit with over 15 community groups along with local businesses taking part. Approx. 90 lorries join the parade and free entertainment at the end of the parade.

Main events include the famous Lurig Challenge Run which is limited to 400 participants, a Food Fest night, an Adult Treasure Hunt, the ever popular 'Theme' fancy dress night, Sheep Dog Trials, and an old time favourite, the Vintage Family Fun Day. 

There is a wide range of children's workshops on offer, along with treasure hunts for both children and adults, heritage walks, storytelling, quizzes and a mixture of entertainment throughout the week to suit all ages. The festival finishes with the Grand Finale Street Céilí with displays of Irish Dancing live music and The Waves of Tory!

The Heart of the Glens Festival is 9 days full of entertainment and fun. Come along and join the fun – you will not be disappointed!
