Cloughmills Community Mill: Heritage, Nature and Renewal
Come along and explore this unique community space set within a former flax scutching mill, now revitalised as a vibrant hub for all ages in Cloughmills.
Surrounded by the remains of the historic mill pond, the site features a welcoming community garden, sensory planting, and even chickens, creating a space where nature, heritage and wellbeing come together. A parkland nature trail runs alongside the river adjacent to the mill, offering a peaceful setting for a walk and a chance to enjoy the local landscape.
Indoors, visitors can watch a film telling the story of linen production and the history of the mill, bringing to life the site’s industrial past.
The project highlights how communities can come together to reimagine historic spaces. From the Men’s Shed to the Community Fridge and indoor event spaces, the mill has been transformed into a lively and inclusive centre serving local people.
Refreshments will be available in the indoor event space, making this a welcoming and relaxing visit for all.
